Mackintosh Architecture

imageThis month the iconic RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) building on Portland Place is hosting a free exhibition and series of talks devoted to the style of the Scottish Architect & Designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Highlights for me were the amazing scale models and grainy film clips, for the enthusiast there is also a collection of over 60 original drawings and watercolours.

The Art Deco 1930’s listed RIBA building is worth a visit in its own right, I was mesmerised by the ceiling reliefs that illustrate various building industry trades and crafts – see my RIBA gallery for some amateur iPhone shots…
